The directory that did not exist for LATAM

There is no comprehensive directory of Spanish-language newsletters for Latin America today. 80-85% of content that ranks for these keywords is focused on Spain, leaving over 400 million Spanish speakers in LATAM underserved. Current results are marketing blog listicles with 20-40 newsletters mixing Spain and LATAM without distinction.

This directory fills that gap. We have verified, categorized and graded 85+ Spanish-language newsletters organized in 9 categories, with filters by country, platform and topic. Each newsletter has a Mazkara Grade based on 5 objective dimensions.

How the Mazkara Grade works

The Mazkara Grade is our proprietary rating system that evaluates each newsletter across 5 dimensions:

Reach (25% weight) measures the subscriber base. A newsletter with 100,000+ subscribers scores 5/5, while one without public data scores 1/5. It is not the only thing that matters, but it indicates real traction.

Consistency (20%) evaluates publishing frequency and regularity. A daily newsletter that meets its schedule scores 5/5. One with “irregular” frequency scores 1/5. Consistency builds reading habits.

Depth (20%) grades content quality. A newsletter with original 1,500+ word analyses scores 5/5. One that only shares links without context scores 2/5. We look for content you cannot find elsewhere.

Engagement (15%) measures audience interaction signals: open rates when available, testimonials, active community, and social media presence. Cenital, for example, has a 48.5% open rate when the industry average is 15-20%.

Editorial (20%) evaluates the author or team credentials and track record. A VC partner writing about startups (Samuel Gil of Suma Positiva) scores 5/5. An anonymous author with no track record scores 2/5.

The Spanish newsletter landscape

The Spanish newsletter market has 580+ million potential speakers but 10-20x less penetration than English. The largest Spanish newsletters prove demand exists and is growing:

Espresso Matutino (Mexico) leads technology with 140,000+ subscribers reading a daily tech and business briefing. Whitepaper.mx dominates business in Mexico with 133,000+ subscribers and a proven monetization model where 50% of CEOs from the country’s largest companies read it.

In artificial intelligence, Digital Brain leads with 85,000+ subscribers and an audience where 35% are VP or C-Level. The AI category is the most competitive in Spanish.

The startup ecosystem has its clear leader: Startupeable by Peruvian Enzo Cavalie, with 50,000+ readers and interviews with founders of Nubank, Mercado Libre and Vercel.

Why subscribe to Spanish newsletters

Newsletters solve a problem that social media cannot: depth without algorithm. When you subscribe to a newsletter, you receive curated content directly in your inbox, without an algorithm deciding what you see and what you do not.

For professionals working with LATAM, Spanish newsletters offer context that English content does not: local regulations, specific market dynamics, and connections with the regional ecosystem.
